BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS?

One of my New Year's Resolutions this year was to read more; it seems too easy nowadays to not pick up an actual book and read, so, to start off, I read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.  Have you read this?  I loved it!  The thing is, when I get into a book, I read it really, really quickly - so I need some recommendations!  I've heard good things about this one, but would love to hear if you have read any books which you loved.

ALPHABET FLASH CARDS

I bought these alphabet flash cards so I could practice letters with Alfie and I'm so impressed with the quality of them.  The cards are really thick, making them perfect for small hands, and the illustrations and colours used are gorgeous.  Definitely worth the purchase if your little one is interested in letters!

GARLIC + LEMON CANNELLINI BEANS

The other evening I couldn't decide what to have with my jacket potato then I remembered a recipe I'd seen using cannellini beans and a few other ingredients.  This made a really yummy, hearty little dish which I loved and will definitely make again.

To make this, heat a tbsp of olive oil in a pan, then fry a clove of garlic (being careful not to let it burn!), then add the cannellini beans and heat through for 3-4 minutes.  I then took the pan off the heat, added some spinach, and stirred through.

Once the beans have cooled a little, add some more olive oil, the juice of half a lemon, and some capers (which I love!)
